A commitment to planning tomorrows

“This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.”

– Theodore Roosevelt

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Experience

Martin served on the Hanford City Council as the District C Representative from 2016-2020, he is currently serving as a Hanford Planning Commissioner from 2021 to present having served as the chair in 2023. He is also currently serving as the Public Member Alternate to Kings County LAFCo (Local Agency Formation Commission) since 2021.

Common sense

Common sense is something that Martin lives by and is all too uncommon in government these days, especially in California. Using common sense while wading through the myriad of over reaching state regulations can be a difficult task but one that Martin strives toward and strongly believes should be utilized in government now more than ever.

Commitment

Having faced multiple health problems Martin decided not to seek re-election to the Hanford City Council in 2020 but wanting to continue to serve the community in some capacity he applied for and was appointed to the Hanford Planning Commission in 2021. He has since restored his health through physical therapy, exercise and diet having shed nearly 90 pounds.

“Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best stage,

is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.”

Thomas Paine
